Everything with High Jinx and Primative Rose has been going very well at the moment. They have both established themselves at novice now constantly giving me a fantastic feeling each time we go out. High Jinx came 10th at Barbury where she gave me the most fantastic ride cross country. Primative Rose unforchantly missed the last couple of runs after having her bloods done we found she was a little under the weather, but we hope she will be back fit a well soon.

The week after Barbury High Jinx also ran at Aston-Le-Walls where yet again she performed coming 7th in the novice.

Well, the eventing season is now well underway and I have had a very exciting start with 2 very promising 6yr olds showing a lot of talent for the future.

We have already been bringing home lots of ribbons, starting with our first event of the season where High Jinx came 5th in the BE100. Primative Rose owned by Emma Davis also put in a fantastic performance putting us all on a high for Tweseldown where neither of the horses were going to faulter - High Jinx winning her class and Primative Rose coming 9th. High Jinx also came 2nd at the new event Swalcliffe.

After such fantastic results in the BE100 classes we felt both horses were ready to upgrade to Novice which we did at Portman. Again, both horses put fantastic performances in sending everybody home happy and looking forward to Kelsall where yet again they pulled out all the stops - High Jinx finishing 7th gaining her first point and Primative Rose coming 16th so yet again we left smiling and now looking forward to our next run at Hambledon.

Winter Plans

Snow in Oxfordshire
Snow in Oxfordshire

Monday 15th February, 2010

Well now the snow has gone my winter plans are well underway, even if a little later than planned.

We started off with the all wether eventing at Weston Lawns where Hight Jinx came in a respectable 2nd place, even if she was a little excitable!

Primative Rose, owned by Emma Davis, also performed exceptionally well and is looking very well after her seasons hunting.

This put us all in good moods after it started snowing during the dressage.

The following week we all went to do some dressage again. It was very cold but at least there was no snow this time. High Jinx won her first class and came second in the following one so I was very pleased with her. Primative rose also pulled out all the stops and came second in the first class and third in the next one, making Emma very happy.

Last week we all went SJ which I think the girls were a lot happier with! Jinx did a nice first round staying under control!!! Having just one fence down and doing the same in the second round so I was very proud of her.

Primative rose was a star in the first round going double clear and looking picture perfect all the way round making Emma very proud. In the second round I think success went to her head a bit so the first half was a little speedy but then she calmed herself and did a lovely second half.

We now only have one horse winter show planned before the start of the event season which we are all excitedly waiting for. Entries are now in for Isleham and Twesledown so hope to see everybody out and about soon.

Dressage in the Drizzle

Sunday 13th December 2009

Today I braved the freezing cold and rain to take High Jinx and Primitive Rose to a dressage competition in Aston-le-Walls. Both the horses were very excited to be washed and groomed and knew they were going on an outing.

I was very pleased with how they both went, they were high spirited and forward going and thoroughly enjoyed getting out. We came home with High Jinx being placed 2nd and 3rd in her classes and Primitive Rose achieving a 2nd and 4th. Well done girls!

Wednesday 2nd December, 2009

All of my horses have started coming back into work now after their holidays and are ready to start their winter training so that we can begin our first few events in March 2010.

As well as lessons and a few indoor shows I like to take some of the horses hunting to let them have a bit of fun and stop them becoming too school bound.

Molly's Diary

Molly - Pippa Taylors dog
Molly says…

Tuesday 1st December, 2009

Hello everyone, my name is Molly and I am six months old. My mummy is called Pippa Taylor and she works very hard every day with her horses.

Mum gets me up and out of the house early every morning in the dark!! Has she not noticed the wind and the rain? It's ok for her - she has wellies! I got my own back on her today for all those early, cold starts… I took the bandages she wanted and hid them in the straw. It took her ages to find them! Woof!

Pippa Goes Glam

Pippa Talylor photoshoot: in jeans and boots
Sample from my photo shoot

Monday 12th October, 2009

Last summer I was very lucky to win a make-over followed by a photo shoot.

Having my hair and makeup done professionally was amazing although I don't think I could wear this much makeup all the time, I could barely open my eyes after the makeup artist finished! I couldn't believe how glamorous I looked and felt.

It was a little uncomfortable having all the photo's taken as normally when I have a picture taken of me I'm under a hat, sat on a horse! It was a great day out which I really enjoyed.
